Get ready to experience the “Mother of the Goldfields” Coolgardie, the western gateway to the Goldfields of Western Australia 

Getting to Coolgardie

Most commonly, visitors approach Coolgardie from the west if travelling from Perth or from the east, if you are venturing from Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Northern Goldfields towns of Menzies, Leonora and Laverton. If travelling from Kambalda and Esperance you can access Coolgardie via the south on the Coolgardie – Esperance Hwy 

From Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie is approximately a 25 minute drive (38km) and from Perth to drive is approximately  6 hours (555km) along the Great Eastern Hwy.

From Kalgoorlie you have a few options to get to Coolgardie. You can either drive yourself or hire a vehicle. 

We also have two return chartered bus services to the Coolgardie Rodeo & Ute Muster organised from Kalgoorlie for Saturday, 20th August.


Accommodation

The town of Coolgardie once had a population during its Goldrush days of over 15,000 residents and was known as the birthplace and unofficial capital of the Eastern Goldfields boasting 60 shops & 26 hotels. Today the town of Coolgardie has around 878 residents and 3,348 thoughout the vast shire.
